Fire season is upon us with a vengeance. There are several big fires burning now. The biggest one is just a ways north of us here. It has burned several thousand acres and the fire crews are no where near having it contained. Fortunately so far no structures have been lost nor are in imminent danger. But with the Santa Anna wind condition (hot, dry and very windy) yet has to seen. The unfortunate thing is a lot of these fires are arson in origin. The smoke makes the air quality worse, even though we have had many years respite from the heavy smog Los Angeles is famous for. We can only hope some cooler damper weather is on the way.
