I was just reading broadcast's blog entry on the subject. I had heard that construction had already started on the Freedom Tower and the pools. So what happened? I maintain that the pools and memorial garden should at least be finished and haggle about the Freedom Tower later. Any comments?

My lucky boss had to go to NYC this past weekend. Well it wasn't a particularly pleasant visit (death in the family) but still... He got to stay in a dear friend's apartment on the upper west side and eat the best pizza on earth. I am counting the days until the December conference that I go to in NYC. I carry my Metro card in my wallet (OK, THAT's weird) so that I can refill it when I get there. I can't decide if I am going to spend a week there or less than a week. Actually not a hard decision...even a week wasn't long enough... Decisions, decisions.

Just got back from the annual Scottish Festival. Actually I don't think the Scots invaded, since they were already here. But this is one of the big festivals here in So Cal. We hold at the Fairplex in Pomona (NE of Los Angeles proper). Lots of beer, fish and chips, burly scotsmen, bagpipes, etc. Really a fun weekend, kinda like the Tartan Day Parade but bigger.
