Great location, great lunch spot
The first time I stepped into Blue Water Grill, the crowd was overwhelming. I thought "what the heck is going on here?" ANd then I figured out that the crowd around the host stand had not made reservations. Word to the wise, if you want to eat during peak times, it is best to make reservations. Popular items include the seafood tower and the sushi platter. Stick with the fish dishes here, especially the specials. Solid wine list, sommelier and live jazz downstairs.

Turkish for the Mod, or the Moody
It's always nice to have a roomy place to go to, and also to find a place in Willy B where the service staff does try, even if they drop the ball from time to time. It's better than a blank stare and a huff of ennui. Brunch is good, and the big open patio is a a real treat for those caged in match-box sized apartments. It's pricier than a lot of other local spots, but *sigh*, that is a sign of the times to come. Remeber: Times to Come. Sp, don't let the "old guard" of Willy B (all of whome are not originally from there, nor much older than 25) tell you that My Moon is ruining the neighborhood. The 'hood is changing, and if you don't like the change, then learn an effective wa...

Outpost of Jazz
The Jazz Gallery is one of those jazz spots that combines top shelf talent with affordable admission. Far from the touristic hubbub of The Blue Note or Birdland, wear audience memebers are forced to endure the whining of bad waiters, the Jazz Gallery is a liad back, open-armed venue that seeks to showcase Talent and not Capitalism. Visist the website for the monthly line-up, and enjoy!

Reading Encouraged
Americans simply do not read enough. But here is a venue that invites you to come in, sit down, order a beverage adn read something - a magazine, a book, a newspaper. Try one of the homemade scones or other tasty treats and enjoy the written word. A signature Brooklyn interior garden makes the Bean great in the warmer months. Music in the early evenings rounds out the feel of this hangout. Staff are quirky but pleasant. Beer & wine available for those not in the mood for tea or coffee.

Venue of the Off Beat & Experimental Dedication to the Art
This is an Art Space, a real place for free epxression, that rare thing in the Brave New World of homogenous monocultural Gap-ification. Resident artists perform regularly (Monday Smut night is awesome). Boldly going wherever the hell they want to, musicians, artists and performers use this space as it was intended. Many people remember the reflecting pool, which is oddly awesome, but the art exhibits, multi-media displays and outrageous performances are the real reason to go. There are many free as well as ticketed performances. Check out the website for precise informaiton. Open late on weekends - the sidewalk out front teems with people. http://www.galapagosartspace.com ...

Rustic Garden & Homemade Pasta
In the warmer months, Acqua Santa has a nice garden where diners can lounge under an arbor of grape leaves, waiting for the not-so-graceful server to bring the wine and the rustic pasta. Brunch is less frenetic here than at Fada or the other eateries on Bedford. The mimosas are made with fresh squeezed orange juice. The food is great, but sometimes the service is a little weird. You will get what you ordered, but you can get some blank stares if you have to gently remind the server that you have no forks. Overall, a nice Willy-B vibe - no stress, no glam, no loud talkers. Good place to meet friends who make the trip on the L from the 212 area code zone.

Meat you can't Beat
Dumont Burger has great food, but the best thing is the Meat. This is a fun place to crowd into and people watch, especially if you get to sit near the window. It's a bit pricey, so if you are on a budget, best not to go crazy when ordering.

Village Life Redux
The interior here is like the set of well-produced high-school play: A wooden hut, treens and greenry, murals of distant lands. First, there is the juice bar, which should be your first stop. Get refreshed and then gear up for the congee, also known as rice porridge. The myraid varieties let you flavor it as you will - the mushroom congee is really good. Lots of choices for vegetarian.s. There are other offerings here - it is Cantonese style, so don't look for soup dumplings. Downstairs are rooms that can be rented for karoke parties. This place is popular with hispters and Asian businessmen. Service is quick & no-nonsense. Don't look to strike up a conversation with...
