Tribute bands are very common these days, with original members from bands such as the Doors and the Who performing without some of the members that made them household names. Jimi Hendrix has been gone for almost forty years, but his original band mates drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox have put together a stellar line-up to pay homage to the late guitarist. Along with guitarists Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Eric Johnson, the group stops at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on Tuesday October 21st. You can purchase tickets right here on our website.

For anyone that keeps their ears to the world of jazz the name Esperanza Spalding rings a loud bell. Since coming to the east coast to attend the Berklee School of Music, Spalding has released two albums. In addition she is the youngest hired professor at Berklee at the tender age of 20! She’s also the biggest rising star in the jazz world with the potential to cross into other genres with her experimentation with other musical styles. You can see her in her prime at the Highline Ballroom and tickets for the show can be purchased through their website.
