Real New York texture, really good food
I love this place. First, the bread is great. Second, the food is great. Third the crowd is great. It's not one of those "Oh Look At ME" places whre no one cares about the food (uh... Meatpacking?). No, this is a place where you can get really good bouillabaisse or steak frites, and really feel some of the the texture of New York. It's not one of those places that smacks of Middle America Mall life or chain food.

House of Amazement, really
Two things: I love the fact that the food covers so much ethnic & religious ground, in an irreverant and tasty fashion.

I also love the lovely bar on the ground floor, and the many events that make this a place to which it is easy to return. Never a dull moment at Mo's.

THe only drawback is that there really isn't enough room to feed those who want to be fed.

Anti-slam is awesome as are most of the scheduled events; one must always check the calendar before planning to attend an event.

Meat me, Feed Me
Red meat and red wine. Delicioso. Really, for those of us who come from lands and regions dedicated to the bovine gift from Zeus, Landmarc is nice alternative to the stuffy steakhouses found further uptown.

I especially appreciate the bone marrow and other forbidden aspects of cookery.

The wine list will not break your bank - you can find a great bottle of wine for the table in the price point of your choosing.

Quarters can be somewhat cramped depending on where you are seated, but that is true of almost every eatery in this town.

More than one kind of rhythm
If you are bored with the usual thump-thump of uninspired DJs and the records they spin, you need to stop by this place and listen to some fantastic if esoteric rhythms that will make your hips happy. Can get crowded in here!

Popular Spot
The crowd at the door towards the height of dinner rush tells you that you will have to wait 30 minutes for a table.

Drinks at the bar are a lot of fun, and there is great people watching while you wait for a table.

Best seats are by the reflecting pond - you feel you have space to breath.

The food is good & reasonably priced. It is nice to see that this is Tahi food, and there is no SUshi going on.

I prefer to order the specials and see what happens.

Slow Cooked Pork, made with love
Finally, I decided to try this place after all the talk about it. I like the boiled peanuts they put on the table. The best thing to order is anything pork, especially smoked or slow-cooked. The beef dishes are not as good. Clearly, the chef as an affinity for the pork.

I also like some of the crazy appetizers on the menu. The menu changes daily, so don't think you can find a "favorite" and then order only that thing. You have to take a risk, so do it.

The garden is nice if it is not too chilly outside. The mis-matched chairs and tables do have that "roots" feel, but it can be annoying if you are at a tall table and have a short chair. Luckily, we were able to t...

Para los españoles nada más que el auténtico
I agree with the other reviewers that this is the real thing. I was surprized that the ambience was as good at it was. The only thing I find fault with is the bread, but that is because here in the US, the flour is different than what we use in Europe. Still, it is great, and if you want to stop in, you will be welcome.

Any night is a good night here
There is still some grit and some real "angre" left in Manahattan. If you want to find some, stop by this well worn space. Syotos plays frequently, and the poetry slam is one of the best in the city. This is not the kind of homegenous place that acts like it;s truly urban. This place is urban. Check the calendar or call for what's happening. Beer is cheap here.

Free Speech Zone
Although the scene out front can be intimidating, it is realy and truly worth entering this place and hearing and seeing art come alive right before your eyes.

Yes, commerce is part of the venue, but so what? Give unto Cesar, and then have your say.

This is place to express yourself (if you don't suffer from stage fright), and to drink in the human experience of the word.

Shelter from the Storm of Glitter and Glam
The Art Bar is a real neighborhood place, with a comfortable setting and a nice vibe and crowd. It is a great place to meet up with friends after working the whole day, or just to stop in for a beer and a burger. Not expensive, not excessively noisy, not filled with fakery. Everyone is welcome.
