Bush gave another one of his fantastically hollow hearted speeches last Tuesday, a real snooze fest for anyone looking for a glimmer of hope.
When he defended his domestic spying habits, he was really telling us "you can quote the Constitution and the BIll of RIghts all day long, I'm the one in charge! We do what I say!"
Just so we all know the truth: When Bushg says "replace 75% of Mideast oil imports", what he means is that he's going to get it from Canada and Alaska. Look out Canada! You might get invaded soon!
When he says "freedom around the world" what he really means is "freedom to do as I say"; you can be sure that Hamas will not be in power long in Palestine. Look for US intervention there, and possibly up into Lebanon.
Whe he says "the only alternative to Americna leadership, he means "all out Armageddon if I don't get my way."
When he tried to equate himself with Eisenhower, he was just trying to point future historians away from his real self.
When he encouraged more science studies, you can bet he knows that in comparison to the rest of the world, our kids look like dumbasses.
Of course, he said nothing about Katrina, since that is a dirty word now, and nothing about Abramoff, an even dirtier word. We musn't sully our new improved Eisenhower with such unmentionables.
And of course, Ms. Cindy Sheehan was arrested during this speech, making it EVEN BETTER than it would have been otherwise.
DO doubt the neo-cons were feeling a mixture of euphoria and trepidation, while Cheney remained his usual flatulent self, that fat rat bastard.
