Sleep Pills And Insomnia

I'm anxious.   So my doctor says. Stressed and probably depressed, too.   But that's something he's not quiet sure.   There might be some more, even myself I'm not too sure. But anxious, that's something sure.

And, to help me out, he prescribed me an anti hallucinations named Seroquel. 25 MG orange-brown pills.

Yay.

Whenever I take my medicine, I'll pass up the next 12 hours sleeping.   My sleep might still be disturbed (as in nightmares, or whatever) but now I feel better when I wake up,... do not feel burned anymore.

Now, if I happen to miss, or even to voluntarily skip a night with this medicine, I will have trouble falling asleep and stay asleep.

Tonight is one of those nights. I forgot to renew my medicine today and 24 hours drugstores don't exist around here, unfortunately.  We have "opened 24 hours" groceries, MAC's marts, fast food locations, clinics, but no drugstores. Go figure.

I haven't been able to sleep yet, and I've passed the last hour walking around my appartment, zapping through TV channels, surfing the web, just trying to find something that will burn me a little more, so that I can sleep.

Now, while trying to burn myself, I found this on the web:

Seroquel Lawsuit Research- Side Effect: Pancreatic Cancer

Although rare, Seroquel has been found to cause the deadly side effect of pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer (also called cancer of the pancreas) is represented by the growth of a malignant tumour within the small pancreas organ.

Weitz & Luxenberg is now accepting cases on behalf of seroquel users who have developed pancreatic cancer. If you or a loved one has suffered due to Seroquel use, fill out this simple form.

Each year about 31,000 individuals in the United States are diagnosed with this condition, with more than 60,000 in Europe.

Risk factors for pancreatic cancer include:

Blah, blah, blah. We get the picture.

There's side effects to everything, and I'm very aware of this. I mean, nothing will keep us safe forever, and medication, although it's here to help, sometimes it'll bring us faster to our deaths.

Still, in the end, I have more chances on getting hit by a car while crossing a street downtown.

Aneway, if I can't sleep, I'd better just go get myself a coffee or something.

The problem with a lot of these medications is that a lot of side effects show up in the post marketing phase when everyone is using them. Including people who would never join a study group or be accepted into one because of pre existing health problems. So it is hard to say whether it is solely the drug or some interaction with something else. The main thing is to weight the pros and cons and just take care of yourself. And as far as cancer goes, I don't believe they really know what triggers it in anybody.
