If there is one place in the East Village that is truly in full swing in October it's the beer bar restaurant Zum Schneider. The folks here are in the midst of this year's month-long Oktoberfest celebrations, with waitresses costumed in traditionally Bavarian attire and Friday and Saturday nights filled with German music and various forms of traditional folk dancing.
From the picture above you can see that on the weekends the line outside for a table stretches forty yards plus. Diners and drinkers arrive a good hour before Zum Schneider's doors open at 1pm.
"Ein Prosit, ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit" to one and all . . .
