Thompson LES is a luxury hotel located in the trendy and diverse neighborhood of the Manhattan's
Lower East Side. It is the latest highly anticipated property to open in Thompson Hotel portfolio. Conceptually designed by Ed Rawlings Architects and Dodd Mitchell Design, and interior design by Jim Walrod, the hotel embodies the ultimate in clean, contemporary New York style with its industrial loft-like feel. The classically modern 18-story hotel is located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan right below Houston Street. The hotel features over 140 rooms, most of which look over Allen Street and have views of Manhattan that are unlike any within the neighborhood. One can see past the Chrysler building and beyond the Hudson and East Rivers. It features a glamorous 120-seat restaurant
Shang, plus an additional separate entrance on Orchard Street. Guests and members enjoy its lush landscaped rooftop bar Above Allen that mirrors A60, the private and popular open-air bar atop its sister
60 Thompson hotel. The views from this outdoor bar face west and have spectacular views of the Hudson.
At Thompson LES, the average size of the room is in excess of 425 square feet and offers an industrial loft-like feel. This hotel is also unprecedented in its prestigious partnerships with world-renowned artists. The images displayed in Thompson LES are of figures within the Andy Warhol circle—people and stories that have made cultural American history. The images of Lee Friedlander will adorn the light box headboards of the beds in each room. The artwork gracing the hotel swimming pool floor will be an image of Andy Warhol himself taken as a film still. Stephen Shore photography will be on display in the public spaces of the hotel.
