Editorial Review
The Library Hotel is conveniently located on Madison Avenue and 41st Street, also known as Library Way, just steps away from the majestic New York Public Library, Bryant Park, Pierpont Morgan Library, the exquisitely renovated Grand Central Terminal. Designed to feel more like a private club than a hotel, the Library Hotel is so named because each of the Library's richly appointed accommodations are individually adorned with art and a collection of books that relate to the room's unique theme.
And the theme is, you guessed it, a Library. Each of the ten guestroom floors of the Library is dedicated to one of the ten major categories of the Dewey Decimal System: Social Sciences, Literature, Languages, History, Math & Science, General Knowledge, Technology, Philosophy, The Arts and Religion. Each of the sixty exquisitely appointed accommodations have been individually adorned with a collection of art and books relevant to one distinctive topic within the category of floor it belongs to. Guests may request their room based on their personal interests (subject to availability) such as the Literature floor featuring subjects from Poetry or The Classics to Erotic Literature. Such intriguing room themes offered on the Math and Science floor are Astronomy and Botany. Law, Eastern Religion, Money, and New Media are also among the 60 eclectic themes available on the room menu at The Library Hotel. Other distinctive features Library guests have at their disposal include the Writers Den a beautiful mahogany paneled room with working fireplace and The Poetry Garden, a sparkling greenhouse.
Guests should be aware that even by Manhattan standards the rooms here are quite small. However, what they lack in size they make up for in their distinctive furnishing. In your room you will also find bathrobes, bottled spring water, hand held hair dryers, makeup/shaving mirrors, Natura bath products, multiple phones with voice mail, high speed internet access, complimentary cable including premium movie channels, VCR with complimentary selection from their video library of the American Film Institutes top 100 films, in room safe, in room mini refrigerator with mini-bar, newspapers. The hotel also offers a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, complimentary wine and cheese reception each Monday through Saturday evening, complimentary refreshments throughout the day including international coffees, cappuccino, espresso, teas, fruit and biscuits and complimentary health club privileges.
