Affinia Manhattan, formerly known as the Southgate Tower, is an all-suite hotel located in the fashion district of New York, N.Y. City attractions, fashion industry offices, shopping and Broadway are easily accessible from this Manhattan hotel. In addition to being surrounded by fine dining, theater and other entertainment venues, the Affinia Manhattan is also located adjacent to Pennsylvania Station and Madison Square Garden, and is five blocks from the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
Built in 1929 and retaining the ornate styling of that decade, Affinia Manhattan offers a lobby with a terrazzo floor, crystal chandeliers and a concierge positioned at a high-tech multimedia station. The Niles Restaurant, featuring stylish décor and a very lively bar, serves contemporary cuisine along with creative seafood and salad dishes. The hotel has an on-site business center with four computers, and wireless Internet access for a fee. A variety of meeting and banquet rooms are available, with the possibility of accommodating up to 400 attendees in the Grand Ballroom. A complimentary 24-hour fitness center offers cardiovascular equipment, weight machines and free weights.
The 526 guest suites at Affinia Manhattan are set up as studios or one-bedroom units with separate sitting areas. Executive-sized desks have ergonomic chairs and work lamps. High-speed Internet access (fees apply) and television Internet access are standard. Small bathrooms offer stall showers or shower/tubs, and are equipped with complimentary Aveda bath products. Custom-designed beds feature pillowtop mattresses, down comforters and a choice of three signature pillows.
City-focused activity kits, including a walking tour kit, sports fanatic kit, and a "fashionista" kit, are available at the metro concierge desk. Kits come in signature Affinia backpacks and include a NYC transit map.
