EDITORIAL REVIEW
The Maritime Hotel is a hip luxury boutique hotel located steps away from some of New York's most chic boutiques and coolest nightclubs. Rooms here resemble luxurious ship cabins, with burnished teak paneling, sea-blue drapes and bed accents, and large porthole windows that face the Hudson River skyline. In keeping with the nautical conceit, the rooms are compact, but well-designed, with built-in furniture, so that all the necessities like storage space, work desk and TV (flat-screen) easily fit into the small space. Wireless internet is available throughout the hotel. While there is no gym, guests are given passes to the nearby New York Sports Club.
The hip factor here is thanks largely to the reputation and creative energy of the Maritime's owners, nightlife impresarios Eric Goode and Sean MacPherson who deliver a jetset crowd nightly in the hotel's expansive public spaces. In fact, the hotel's various venues, from the La Bottega restaurant to the Hiro nightclub and the phenomenal Japanese restaurant Matsuri are all worth a visit. After a late night out on the town or perhaps just wandering around the nearby ultra-trendy Meatpacking District, return to your luxury liner a/k/a hotel and relax in style.
