The Galleries of the Senate remain open to the public when the Senate is in session as do the galleries of the House of Representatives when the House is in session. The United States Capitol is open for tours Monday through Saturday, the first tour beginning at 9:30 am and the last at 3:30 pm. Free tour tickets are distributed on a first come, first serve basis, starting at 8:15 am each day at the South Visitor Facility.
