A musical celebration of an 18th century Christmas will be presented by Linda Russell and Companie at St. Michael’s Church Hall on Monday, December 17th at 7:30pm. The ensemble will trace the history of the holiday in the Colonies through carols, hymns, dance tunes, rounds and drinking songs interwoven with Yuletide poems, folklore and recipes. Hammered and mountain dulcimers, flute, bagpipes, harp, violin and cello combine to bring life to the music of Christmas Past.
Linda Russell is an early American balladeer with 8 albums of traditional & historical music. The Companie consists of soprano Margery Cohen, cellist Abby Newton, fiddler Ridley Enslow, dulcimist Anne Enslow & flutist & harpist Christa Patton
The concert will be held at St. Michael's Church Hall, 225 W. 99th St. $15, $12 for children and seniors.
