The Friday Book Bash tickets are $125 in advance and $150 at the door.
The New York Book Fair weekend will launch with a Book Bash on Friday, November 20, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Preview and purchase the best books of the year before the fair opens to the public. Celebrate the Book Fair’s 22nd birthday with the evening’s raffle and cocktail party.
Goddard Riverside Community Center, one of New York City’s leading not-for-profit organizations, holds its Annual New York Book Fair on Saturday, November 21, 2009 and Sunday, November 22, 2009. New Yorkers save 50% or more on new, best-selling books, CDs, DVDs, calendars and other holiday gift items, including an excellent selection of children’s books. More than 85 cents of every dollar spent at the fair will be donated to support Goddard Riverside Community Center and its programs.
Goddard Riverside provides services to 17,500 people annually from Manhattan’s Upper West Side and Harlem communities. Twenty-two programs at 21sites reach out to children and youth, families, homeless people and older adults. Goddard Riverside, a not-for-profit organization, provides basic services such as meals, shelter and education, and enriches community life with recreational, cultural and arts activities. The agency manages 600 units of affordable housing. In addition, advocacy and legal services offer individuals and groups a voice in their community and a way to address critical social issues. www.goddard.org
