Set in Chicago, Superior Donuts centers on the unlikely friendship between an ex-hippie donut-shop owner named Arthur Przybyszewski and his brash young African-American employee, Franco Wicks, who wants to change the decrepit shop for the better. While this play is replacing Pulitzer Prize-winning drama August: Osage County, it too was written by award-winning writer Tracy Letts, who won both the Pulitzer and the Tony Award for Best Play for August in 2008.
