A hilarious and haphazard musical search for the Holy Grail courtesy of Monty Python, and lovingly ripped off from their classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The producers of Spamalot have announced that the musical will close in 2009; the last performance will be January 11th.

Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and the quest for the Holy Grail in song, Monty Python's Spamalot features "a chorus line of legless knights, men in tights (with legs), killer rabbits and sexy dancing divas." The production also promises "some of the most unforgettable musical numbers you will ever see in the theater on this evening!"

Spamalot is an adaptation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the 1975 hit film that is the most beloved and successful of the Monty Python screen ventures. This outrageous new musical stars Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) as King Arthur, David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) as Sir Robin and Hank Azaria as Sir Lancelot. Academy Award-winner Mike Nichols won a 2005 Tony Award for his direction of this show.
