Not a Cirque du Soleil we all know. If you are expecting the show to be something like "O" or "Mystère" not even bother to go. You will be very disappointed!
I just wanted to get up and leave in the middle of the show.

It was the most disappointing show I have seen in years. DO NOT GO. It is not the Cirque du Soleil we all know and have come to love. It is more akin to Sesame Street musical with some interesting circus acts thrown in (think singing lamp posts and big, fluffy dog puppets that talk and sing).

Rather than the great costumes, unique and original music and astonishing artists on stage it was a little boy in a red jacket running around telling everybody that he wanted it to snow. The lamp posts sang an overly child-like song about snow and if there was dancing it was amateurish and simple. THEN the dogs came out and I laughed out loud (people in front of us groaned in disappointment). They were these giant, white, shaggy dog-puppets that ran around the stage for the rest of the show singing and talking

I saw Wintuk this past week while visiting New York City.  I have seen many cirque style shows and for the most part enjoyed them. This production just did not cut it.  I recently saw a show produced by another company called Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy. It too was performed in a theater with staging confines but was so well produced, entertaining and truly celebrated the art of the cirque genre.  That performance was indeed an all around family show. I suggest you find out where Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy is playing and save your money.

I had a wonderful opportunity on Halloween to go see Cirque du Soleil's new show Wintuk. Thoroughly excited, I entered Madison Square Garden with my friend in tow. Throughout the years I have heard so many wonderful things about Cirque, seen amazing clips on tv and even own some of the beautiful music, so I was shocked and horrified when the show turned out to be more than disappointing.

When I go see a show I expect it to have a few key elements, plot being one that I deem important. Yes, well, someone forgot about that while producing this show. That's not fair: There is a plot, it just seems like an afterthought. The 'scenes' (or circus acts) are forced into the skeletal plot points and do not connect to one another. The show begins with a cops and robbers sequence and somewhere along the line melds into giant singing dogs taking a whiney boy to the land of the North, where...
