Strongest 3 dollar margaritas in town
By jessica_g

The happy hour specials are great, especially the 3 dollar frozen margaritas. They are far stronger than the price tag suggests. I was also shockingly impressed by how tasty their veggie burgers are as well.

As for concerts in their main room, well sometimes it gets a little cramped, depending on the show. But they generally speaking it's a great affordable place to catch an eclectic array of indie musicians.

Additionally, every Tuesday night there's free music upstairs. It's a cozy, intimate space -perfect for catching some up-and-coming acts.

A little something...
By brdman who lives in San Diego, CA

There's a little something for everyone here. Last Friday (Nov. 11) was my first time and it was great. Being 23 and from San Diego, CA I had no troubles meeting anyone at this great hangout. Dance the night away upstairs, or hang out with the young hip crowd downstairs - your choice. Oh, and if the girl I met from Hoboken last Firday happens to read this...reply to this or call me back!

I hope to be at the Piano's retrospective 10 years from now.
By partycrasher who lives in Manhattan

I remember when it first opened. It was my favorite place... then the B&T came... then they started having really cool indi-bands and after-parties there... then the B&T went away. I suspect Piano’s will become a place people write about what it was like (back in the day) 10 years from now. I hope to be at that opening.

 GURU

Dancing now allowed!
By Grasshopper who lives in Chinatown

I was just at Pianos the other night to check out a friend’s band and I was informed by the manager that they just received their cabaret license, bringing back the dance to the upstairs. The sound system for the shows upstairs is a bit weak, but hey its free and downstairs hosts some decent bands as well. The crowd is a bit uptown visiting the lower east side on the weekends and it can get very cramped, making the task of getting a drink a little more difficult.
