Floral Park
I too was skeptical, but it will be an oasis of green above Chelsea's industrial zone. I saw this photoblog today and I love it:

a gem to be restored

Lower East Side
You need your imagination right now to envision what an elevated park 30 feet above street level will ultimately look like, but it will be unique in all of America. Running north-south though Chelsea, this former railroad line has been derelict for decades, and making progress required an inordinate amount of red tape and bureaucratic hurdles to be overcome. But having seen it from above, I can tell you it will be the talk of the town when completed.
