Editorial Review
For over thirty years The Studio Museum in Harlem has been recognized for its catalytic role in promoting African American art and artists within the mainstream of the art work in the United States and on the global arena. In 1987, the Museum became the first fine arts museum dedicated to African-American art to be accredited with commendation by the American Association of Museums. The collection features nineteenth and twentieth-century African-American art, twentieth century Caribbean and African art, and traditional African art and artifacts. Make sure to visit their website for up-to-date information on what's showing.
