It's hard to find a New York native (without kids at least) who actually attends this event, which is wildly popular with tourists. And that's too bad, because it looks like so much fun on t.v. On the other hand, wouldn't you rather be home preparing the big meal than standing around freezing cold watching big gas-filled balloons and marching bands from Peoria go by?
