Editorial Review
The Waterfront Museum is dedicated to celebrating the New York City waterfront and invites the public, schools and private groups to utilize their restored barge in Brooklyn. In 1998, the Barge was designated by the United Nations as the "Regional Craft of the Year of the Oceans" for The Waterfront Museum's work in opening up waterfronts for the use and enjoyment of the general public.
This year (2002) the Museum is undertaking an urgent Drydock Project to repair this historic vessel and protect it from further damage from wood-eating shipworms. Without immediate attention, the barge is unlikely to survive two more seasons. They ask that you consider becoming a sponsor and contribute to this preservation project.
