58 Park Ave.,
New York, NY 10016
Editorial Review
Scandinavia House brings to life the rich cultures and traditions of the five Nordic countries -– Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. A destination for New Yorkers and visitors to the City, Scandinavia House presents a wide variety of exhibitions in its elegant and spacious galleries. Other programs include films, concerts, lectures, and additional events encompassing the visual and performing arts, literature, technology, science, and business. A selection of important modern and contemporary paintings by well-known artists, on long-term loan from national museums in the five Nordic countries can be viewed throughout the Center.

The Shop @ Scandinavia House carries Scandinavian design-objects, books, and music. Scandinavia House’s AQ Café, operated by the renowned New York City-based Restaurant Aquavit provides one of New York’s loveliest spots for a delicious lunch or refreshment.

Scandinavia House is located in a beautiful and superbly modern new building designed by the internationally renowned Polshek Partnership of New York City. The building itself–detailed with exquisite care and designed to showcase Scandinavian materials and culture–plays a major role in the experience of the Center. Other features of Scandinavia House include the 168-seat Victor Borge Hall for performances and lectures, the Heimbold Family Children’s Learning Center, which offers regular programs and activities for children and families, and the Halldór Laxness Library.
